A will is one of the most\u00a0important\u00a0documents in any estate plan.\u00a0 Even if a person has a living trust, a pour-over will is still necessary to capture any forgotten or later acquired assets that a person may have at death.\u00a0 If a person dies without ever executing a will, then that person\u2019s assets will be distributed according to Florida law.\u00a0 Often times, this is not what the deceased would have wanted.\u00a0 By executing a will, you control the distribution of your assets upon your death, and can even direct a personal representative to set up\u00a0trusts<\/a> to further control distribution of those assets.\u00a0 This can be a very important and effective tool if one is concerned about a beneficiary\u2019s ability to manage those assets once received.<\/p>\n
